Associate Degree in Environmental Studies

The Associate of Science Degree in Environmental Management offers students a programme of studies in the management of the environment as it relates to:

  • Management of social and economic development which oversees human activities that creates a built environment in which ecology, people, natural resources, science and scientific management principles are understood and appreciated.
  • Planning that overarches sustainability the concerns of future generations
  • Holistic management as integral to total quality management in which the cybernetic linkages and synergies of anthropocentrism are critical to health and profit all stakeholders.
  • Management of all aspects of waste and pollution with special emphases on proactive and reactive approaches and control applications of technologies that reflect efficiencies, effects and impact analyses on receptors.

A management study programme that provides the tools and techniques of decision-making based on environmental aspects analyses. This associate degree programme has as its target the following clients :

  • Environmental Management Studies Graduates of the Cipriani College of Labour & Cooperative Studies.
  • Complementary Discipline Studies Graduates of the Cipriani College of Labour & Cooperative Studies: (Occupational Safety & Health, Project Management, Human Resource Management).
  • Practicing HSE Personnel from the Industry and NGO’s.
  • Technicians from the Industry.
  • CXC \ GCE College Graduates
  • Graduates from The University of the West Indies.
  • Graduates from other universities and local institutions that offer Environmental Study Courses.

ADMISSIONS ELIGIBILITY

  • Those who fulfill the following conditions will be eligible for admission into the Associate of Science degree in Environmental Management:
  • Students who possess five or more CXC/GCE passes
  • Students who have successfully completed the CCLCS Diploma in Environmental Management or its equivalence
  • Mature students (25 years and older) who have successfully completed CCLCS Certificate in Environment Management with at least a “B” average and have worked continuously within the Environmental setting for at least two years. 

TUITION FEES

  • Full payment of fees is required when registering for classes. Cipriani College is now a participant in GATE - Government’s Assistance for Tuition Expenses. The tuition fees listed below apply only to non-nationals. Citizens of Trinidad and Tobago are eligible for free tertiary education. The Board of Governors reserves the right to change tuition and fee charges when necessary without notice. Fees and tuition are not transferable.

  • Student Guild Fee (Compulsory Fee Payment) - $60.00
  • Re-entry fee - $100.00

Note:

  • Late Registration Fee: All students registering for programmes after the published date for regular registration shall pay a non-refundable fee of $300.00
  • Library Caution Fee: Refundable fee of $200.00
  • Lab Fee: $120.00
  • Graduation Fee: $500 ($200 Refund upon return of gown and mortarboard in acceptable condition)
  • Transcript Fee: A fee of $50.00 will be charged for a student transcript
  • Grade Appeal: $50.00
  • Replacement Fee:
    - Receipt - $10.00
    - ID Card - $40.00
    - Certificates - $100.00
